What does it mean to age well for migrants?

We ran a series of focus group discussions with older migrants from six communities across Aotearoa New Zealand:

 

• Chinese

• Indian

• Sri Lankan

• Samoan

• South African

• British

During these discussion groups, we talked about what ageing well or living a good life means to people, discussed the challenges of ageing as a migrant, and what growing old in one's home country would be like compared to ageing in New Zealand.
